INDUSTRY FUNDING AVAILABLE FOR SELECTED COURSES*

Ascent Training Solutions offers a range of high-risk crane course at our easily accessible site located in Richlands. Our courses are delivered by our industry trainers and assessors who will provide you with skill sets for roles that involve the use of crane operations in a variety of industries such as construction, mining, offshore drilling and more.

Types of Cranes/Courses

Slewing Mobile Crane – A slewing mobile crane is a crane that includes a boom jib that has the capability of being slewed. At Ascent Training Solutions, we deliver the following High-Risk Work Licence Classes C2, C6, C1 and C0 (on request).

  • TLILIC0022 Licence to operate a slewing mobile crane (up to 20 tonnes)
  • TLILIC0023 Licence to operate a slewing mobile crane (up to 60 tonnes)
  • TLILIC0020 Licence to operate a slewing mobile crane (over 100 tonnes)

Vehicle Loading Crane – A vehicle loading crane is a vehicle with the purpose of loading and unloading items on or off the vehicle. This course will help you to obtain a CV High-Risk Work Licence class.

  • TLILIC0024 Licence to operate a vehicle loading crane (capacity 10-meter tonnes and above)

Non-Slewing Mobile Crane – A non-slewing mobile crane is a powered, articulated mobile and/or locomotive crane with a boom or jib that is not capable of being slewed (turned or moved from position).

  • TLILIC0018 Licence to operate a non-slewing mobile crane (greater than 3 tonnes capacity)

In Australia, it is a requirement to hold a High-Risk Work Licence (HWRL) to operate a crane. Undertaking one of our Nationally Recognised training courses and formal assessment will help you to obtain your HRWL. As part of the course, you will be trained and assessed on your knowledge and skills when operating a crane under realistic working conditions. Our highly knowledgeable trainers will support you through your course to ensure you are confident in your operating techniques.

A holder of an HWRL will be able to safely operate their chosen class of crane within and range of industries, including the construction industry and more.

The operation of our Crane courses cover various aspects that include, but are not limited to;

  • Carrying out pre and post crane check-ups
  • Crane set up
  • Hazards and risks
  • Crane lifts
  • Communication (including whistle and hand signals)
  • Moving Loads
  • Operator maintenance on crane
  • Load calculations and movements
  • Shutting down the crane
  • Regular post-operational checks

Our Crane licence and ticket in Brisbane are delivered through classroom-based theory learning, supported by practical skills training and scenario-based practical knowledge using a range of methods to support you through your course. Our knowledgeable industry trainers are there to support and guide you in the current knowledge and skills used on site today, to ensure confidence in your crane operations.
